TaRL Africa is supporting UNICEF Angola and the Ministry of Education to implement a pilot program under the name Aprendizagem na Idade Certa (AIC). TaRL Africa is providing technical assistance to support the Ministry of Education in increasing access to quality literacy and numeracy for primary school-aged children in Angola.

TaRL Delivery Model
TaRL Africa, the Ministry of Education (MED) and UNICEF, have been working on designing and implementing a TaRL program in Angola. In September 2024, a TaRL pilot program was successfully launched. The pilot will be implemented across 71 government schools, in 4 provinces. TaRL Africa serves as the technical lead, while the Ministry of Education has actively participated in all aspects of the TaRL activities. The language of instruction is Portuguese.
