In Niger, we are remotely supporting TaRL implementation through our global Memorandum of Cooperation with JICA. Under this model, JICA has integrated the TaRL approach into the original  Minimum Package for Quality Learning: PMAQ model for both reading and maths.

TaRL Delivery Model

JICA supports the Ministry of Education in Madagascar to scale up the TaRL-integrated learning improvement model. The “School for All” program provides training for representatives of School Management Committees (SMCs) to plan and implement out-of-class remedial activities to help children strengthen their foundational maths and Malgasy reading skills. These TaRL classes, led by teachers and volunteers, run for two hours daily after school.
