TaRL Delivery Model
Meerkat Learning has reached students in both formal and informal settings, using an innovative approach that combines community volunteers, low-cost materials, and rapid assessment tools to gauge learning progress. The program integrates youth volunteers as facilitators, leveraging Namibia’s young population, and works closely with the Ministry of Education to ensure scalability and sustainability. In 2023, the program achieved an impressive increase in student performance, with students improving from 16% to 57% in basic addition skills in just one term. Meerkat Learning now operates in 6 out of 14 regions of Namibia, partnering with regional governments. The Namibian Ministry of Education’s financial and technical support has been integral in driving the program’s success.
